For her stage work, Monica won the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Karen in All About Eve (Sonia Friedman Productions). She has also toured globally with the Royal Shakespeare Company in their productions of King Lear and The Seagull, and performed in Talking Heads at the Bridge Theatre and for BBC1. Her play The B*easts, in which she also starred, debuted at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017 to rave reviews and a sell-out run and had its London debut at The Bush Theatre in February 2018. The play was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre at the 2018 Oliver Awards.
In 2016, Monica won Best Actress at the BBC Audio Awards for her portrayal of Ursula Loyer in the radio production of Vincent In Brixton. She stars as the artist Audrey Amiss in Carol Morley’s latest feature film, Typist Artist Pirate King.
